Physician Spotlight: John Jurige, MD
Although HIFU was recently approved in the U.S. (October 2015), there are a significant number of urologists throughout the United States that have already invested time and energy to become experts in HIFU for prostate disease.
This week, we would like to introduce one of those physicians who has been treating patients with HIFU for 8 years and has been involved with nearly 400 HIFU treatments, Dr. John Jurige.
Dr. Jurige has over 25 years of practicing urology and is a member of the American Board of Urology, American Urological Association and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of Louisville.
His areas of special interest include female urology and incontinence management, microsurgical vasectomy reversal, erectile dysfunction and prostate cancer treatment. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville and completed his residency training there as well.
He currently practices urology at First Urology in Louisville, Kentucky where he also serves as the HIFU program director.
